WILD TRIBE HEROES

Supporting a Sustainable Future Inspiring families to protect our planet

As a mother of four, a teacher and a nature lover, I’ve always wanted to do something to help the planet, but I never imagined that a simple conversation with my daughter would lead me to write children’s books inspiring millions of families to take action. In 2015, we were lucky enough to spend a year living on a tropical island in the Great Barrier Reef. One day, we watched a turtle being released back into the sea. My four-year-old daughter turned to me and asked, “Why did the turtle need rescuing?” That question led us to visit a turtle hospital, where we saw the devastating effects of plastic pollution first-hand. The next morning, my daughter eagerly picked up every piece of litter she

could find on the beach, proudly saying: “Mummy, I’m saving a turtle!” That moment stuck with me. If a child so young could feel inspired to take action, then stories could be a powerful way to encourage more children to care about the environment. That’s how Wild Tribe Heroes was born - a series of beautifully illustrated books based on real animals facing real challenges, from plastic pollution to deforestation and climate change. However, these aren’t sad stories - they are hopeful, empowering and designed to show children that their actions matter. Difficult topics should be introduced to children in a way that is gentle, engaging and age-appropriate, which is why my books have happy endings and include practical ideas for families to help protect the planet. Whether it’s using reusable water bottles, litter-picking or planting a wildlife-friendly garden, children love seeing how small changes can have a big impact. The response to the series has been incredible. Parents tell me

that their children, after reading Wild Tribe Heroes, have been inspired to recycle more, reduce plastic waste, save energy and even organise beach clean-ups. The books have also become a brilliant resource in schools, with free curriculum-linked teaching materials helping teachers bring these lessons into the classroom. Over two million children across the UK have now read them - and that number is growing every day! You can find Wild Tribe Heroes online, in independent bookshops and through eco-friendly retailers. Every book read helps raise awareness and supports conservation efforts. By reading together, you’re helping to build a greener, more sustainable future for the next generation!
