From Stage Fright to Spotlight
How PSSA can help your child thrive
Who Are PSSA?
Established in 2003, PSSA (Pop School & Stage Academy) offers independent performing arts training for four to sixteen-year-olds.
In addition to seven term-time Academies, they offer action-packed Holiday Camps every school holiday, and deliver performing arts clubs and tuition for leading London schools including Broomwood and Aktiva.
Why Choose PSSA?
PSSA prides itself on offering first-class performing arts training for stage and screen in a supportive and fun environment.
Syllabus classes can be restrictive for younger children, so their musical theatre class for four to sixyear-olds combines singing, acting and dancing in one confidence-boosting, creative session. It’s an actionpacked class full of laughter where children can live out their Disney dreams and channel their inner pop stars as they are encouraged to stand up and shine!
Our 6 to 16-year-old classes are designed to create the ultimate all-round performer. After an energising group warm-up, students are split by age to rotate around for singing, acting and dancing, leading to performance opportunities on stage and screen.
Every year, all students will record vocals and star in a Pop Video, perform in a Christmas Showcase and step into the spotlight in a professionally staged musical at the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Theatre. PSSA also offers the chance to join their affiliated agency - with students currently starring in the West End, on Netflix and the BBC.
Benefits of Performing Arts
PSSA believes the many benefits of performing arts teach vital skills for life, not just the stage. Whether your child is destined for stardom or needs encouragement to develop confidence, classes will boost self-belief and celebrate individuality.
In addition to performance skills, students will develop public speaking and vocal skills in singing, explore and identify their own feelings by exploring a range of characters and scripts in drama, and increase fitness, balance, strength and flexibility through dance.
Success Stories
PSSA students are currently performing in the West End, on Netflix and the BBC in addition to many alumni moving on to vocational training. Recent success stories include Sophie Simnett (The Lodge, Last Train To Christmas), Jude Collie (Here We Go, Terminator), Poppy Whittaker (Matilda the Movie), Suki Waterhouse (Divergent), Rebecca & Isabelle Lozada (Nintendo), Eva Dabrowski (Wonder Woman).
Join the PSSA Family
January is the most exciting time to join PSSA as they begin working towards their summer musical. Costumes, set, microphones and lighting are all provided at no extra cost to ensure students experience the magic of performing in a local theatre. Past shows include Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Matilda Jr, and they can’t wait to announce their 2024 production very soon!
