There is an inheritance hierarchy to Result Types. When the display template framework identifies Result Types that are applicable to a set of search results, the Result Types from the current site, the site collection, and SSA are retrieved. The Result Type that matches and has the highest priority is the one that is used to render the result items that are returned. To create a Result Type at the top-level site of a site collection, navigate to the Site Settings page, and then under Site Collection Administration, click Search Result Types to display the Manage Result Types page, as shown in Figure 2-10.
