His trio, The Hutchinson Andrew Trio, won the prestigious TD Grand Prix Award at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2013. As a leader, he has received five nominations at the Western Canadian Music Awards for Best Jazz Recording. Chris has recorded five albums as a leader and has contributed to over 54 albums as a sideman. Currently the MacEwan University alumnus is composing and arranging music for The Hutchinson Andrew Trio plus The Lily String Quartet’s upcoming album, as well as working on his own solo piano recording.

BRENDAN MCGRATH: PIANO | JERROLD DUBYK: SAXOPHONE Brendan McGrath is a local emerging jazz pianist, currently working on an undergraduate degree in jazz piano performance at MacEwan University. McGrath’s influences range from jazz pianists Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock and Renee Rosnes, to punk, pop and folk musicians such as Hüsker Du, the Smiths and Bob Dylan.
