Welcome to back to Around Edmond where, if you are new to Edmond, we talk about recent and upcoming events, local happenings and more! We conducted our first ever reader balloting and polls to find out who are our reader’s favorite local businesses. This issue is dedicated to all 27 categories and we hope the results will help you navigate local business from our readers perspective. While I am completely aware that everyone shops at Target, Walmart, the mall and other national retailers and franchises, what we like to represent in our marketing and talk about are the businesses our local residents and neighbors own. In doing this for the last 5 years, we’ve seen the positive impact that occurs in bringing you what is new and currently available from local retailers, businesses and service providers has had on the people who own the businesses and their families, whether in print, online or through social media. We don’t take any credit for the winners of this years EA Readers Choice Polls, and the results are strictly the opinion of our readers! With the Edmond Arts Festival wrapping up for 2014, we now have the Liberty Festival to look forward to the first week of July. Until then, keep your eye out on EdmondActive.com as we are renovating the website and find the perfect events calendar for the
upcoming summer and early fall events. We will also be featuring some upcoming Dead Center Film Festival participants from the area and providing coverage of the event online during the first week of June. This year’s films look terrific! And, I’d like to congratulate all of the Edmond seniors, both high school and college, as they are to start graduating around the middle of May. I hope that all of you reach your goals and more in the upcoming months and that you succeed in everything you do!
