Su misura | Made to measure
Il responsabile del taglio modifica le linee del modello sulla base della conformazione fisica del cliente. Ăˆ il momento di massima espressione di un capo su misura. A pattern cutting expert applies all the needed modification of the pattern of that specific style, based on the specific physical conformation of the customer. This can be considered the moment of maximum expression of a custom made garment.
Controllo | Check
Il tagliatore controlla che le modifiche apportate non alterino le proporzioni originarie del capospalla. The Cutter checks that the implemented changes do not alter the original proportions of garment.
Taglio | Cutting
Ogni parte dell’abito è tagliata singolarmente. Questa fase viene ripetuta per ciascun capo che il cliente ha ordinato. Every part of the suit is individually cut. This step is repeated for each suit or coat that the customer has ordered.
Assemblaggio fantasie | Assembly
Eseguito finemente il taglio, le singole parti sono affiancate per controllare che le fantasie del tessuto non risultino distorte all’atto della cucitura. La tramatura del capo deve corrispondere a quella del tessuto prescelto. Solo l’esperienza di colui che opera assicura un simile risultato. When the cutting is been finely executed, the pieces are placed side by side to check that the fabric’s pattern is perfectly matching. The weave of the garment must match that of the fabric. Only the experience can ensure such an a perfect outcome.
Imbastitura | Basting
Il sarto cuce le singole parti, rispettando misure e proporzioni definite nella fase del taglio. Tutte gli elementi sono assemblati con il solo ausilio di ago e cotone. Anche le tele e le fodere, tagliate su misura, sono imbastite con lo stesso rigore. The master tailor puts together all the parts. All the elements are assembled with the sole use of a needle and thread. Even the interfacings and the lining, are assembled with the same rigor.
Bordature anteriori | Front facing
Le bordature anteriori della giacca, dialettalmente definite “quarti”, sono chiuse a mano. Date le tempistiche che questa operazioni richiede, solo i quantitativi limitati dei prodotti realizzati consentono un simile trattamento. Le cuciture posteriori e delle maniche, sono ribboccate e impunturate a mano per garantire durevolezza e prestigio. The front facings of the jacket, which in neapolitan slang are called “quarti”, are closed by hand. This operation is really time-consuming and its only possible thanks to limited quantity of garments produced. The back seams and the sleeves, however, are all “ribboccate” which means hand-stitched to ensure durability and prestige.
Prima fase di stiro | First phase of ironing
Al termine di ogni fase, la giacca passa allo stiro senza l’ausilio di vapore e di presse che altererebbero la naturale curvature delle cuciture. Seguendo le piÚ antiche tradizioni sartoriali, il capo viene ricoperto con vecchi stracci inamidati per evitare il contatto diretto delle tramature del tessuto con il ferro da stiro. La manualità del sarto che plasma il tessuto e dà forme tondeggianti alle cuciture è evidente anche in corso di lavorazione, prima che il capo sia ultimato e stirato. The ability of the tailor who shapes the fabric and gives that rounded lines at the seams , is evident throughout the work in progress, before the garment is completed and ironed.
Taglio asole | Cutting the button-holes
Nel corso delle prima misurazione al cliente, vengono tratteggiati i punti di abbottonatura della giacca a seconda della propria conformazione fisica. Solo successivamente si procede al taglio delle asole. During the first fitting, the button-holes are traced on the jacket depending on the client’s body shape. Only then, the tailor proceeds to cut the slits.

L’asola cucita a mano ha un fascino inconfondibile. è fondamentale che nella costruzione del primo nodo il cotone non presenti intrecci. An hand-stitched buttonhole has its unique charm. For a perfect execution of the button-holes, it is essential that the first knot of the thread is done neatly.

La bordatura è realizzata con massima accuratezza affinchè le parti tondeggianti risultino uniformi. The edging of the slit is sewn by hand with utmost care so that the even the rounded parts result even.
Travetto | Lock stitch
L’asola si chiude con la costruzione del travetto. Il nodo finale, con la complessità che lo contaddistingue, fissa le linee e assicura la resistenza dell’intero impianto. The button hole is closed with a lock stitch. The final knot is known for its complexity of execution as it’s what ensures the strength of and durability of the entire button-hole.
Impunture | Top stitch
Prima che il capo sia consegnato, tutte le bordature sono ripassate con impunture sottilissime, quasi impercettibili, realizzate a mano. Before the garment gets delivered to the client, all the edges are secured with tiny and almost invisible top stitching, obviously all made by hand.
