Davao Light, Aboitiz Foundation college scholars in Davao now 89

AVAO Light and Power Co. in cooperation with its social development arm, the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. recruited and qualified last month 38 new college scholars whose grants will start this school year 2013-2014. The figure brings the total number of Davao Light scholars in college under the umbrella of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to 89. The scholars are dependents of customers coming from various areas of the company’s franchise namely Davao City, Panabo City, and the municipalities of Carmen, Dujali and Sto. the batch of 20 recruited and qualified in SY 20102011; 14 are survivors of the 25 recruited in SY 2011-2012; and 27 are those who remained from the recruit in SY 20122013. Last March 2013 twelve of the company’s CSR administered scholars graduated from various universities and colleges. Two of the graduates garnered Cum Laude honors. They got their BS in Mathematics degree from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP).
