EnERaL SanToS CITY – Communist guerrillas killed on Sunday one of the main suspects in the october 21,1985 massacre of 17 people in sitio (sub-village) Lampasak, Barangay alegria in alabel town, Sarangani Province. In an interview with dxES Bombo Radyo here, Ka Efren, spokesman of CPP-nPa-nDF in Far South Mindanao Region (FSMR), confirmed that new People’s army rebels killed around 12:00 noon on Sunday the suspect identified as Sayao Tangge. “Members of the new People’s army under guerrilla Front 75 meted out the death penalty against Sayao Tangge at sitio Malaya, Barangay alegria last Sunday noon after he was found guilty of the crime committed long ago involving the massacre of 17 persons in sitio Lampasak, alegria in

1985,” Ka Efren said. Ka Efren bared that aside from his involvement in 1985 Lampasak massacre, Tangge was also implicated in several land grabbing activities in several parts of alegria. “Due to his land grabbing activities, about 40 lumad farmers lost their lands. We could not allow this kind of abuses to continue,” Ka Efren added. The suspect, Ka Efren, disclosed had also been involved in the killing of some nPa guerrillas in sitio Pait, alegria sometime in 1987. according to him, Tangge aggravated his crimes against the communist movement by serving as military asset. “Tangge inflicted harm on the organization by playing the role of a military spy. During the trial process, the people’s court had proven beyond doubt that he had committed

such offenses,” Ka Efren said. The nPa spokesman claimed it took quite a long time before the punishment was carried against Tangge as he was elusive and was given protection by the military. He said the suspect’s relatives exerted efforts to convince the communist movement to defer the execution. “However, instead of giving himself up he continued with his activities which further harmed the organization,” the nPa spokesman said. He admitted that some private individuals in Sarangani province are facing charges before the people’s court for having committed offenses against the people and the movement, but he refused to name names pending the final resolution of their cases. DCWD warns public of water shortage D

avao City Water District acting general manager Edwin v. Regalado advises DCWD customers especially those residing in elevated and farther areas to store water in clean containers during the whole duration of the summer season for them to have standby water supply in case water supply becomes intermittent. “Water demand always increases every during summer season, a trend that we have observed for a long time now,” Regalado said. “Because of the increased demand, we experience shortage of water supply. Thus, there are some areas that experience low water pressure to no water during peak hours of water usage which is usually in the morning,” he added. aside from the increased demand, Regalado also mentioned that two production wells of DCWD’s largest water system, the Dumoy Water Supply System (WSS), have bogged down and need to be shut off.Last april 2, DCWD had to temporarily shut off Production Well no. 23 as it is already due for re-drilling. although the project has already been awarded to a contractor, the

whole re-drilling project would still take around one year to complete. PW no. 30 also needed to be shut off for preventive maintenance purposes. “as much as we want to have all of our production wells operating during these times when water demand is very high, we could not risk further damaging our facilities,” Regalado said. according to him the non-operation of these production wells further aggravate the problem in water supply. He also mentioned that customers whose connections are beings supplied by DCWD’s reservoir in gSIS Matina are also experiencing problems in water supply. DCWD’s Engineering and Construction and operation and Maintenance departments have already assessed the situation in order to come up with
