CEO's Perspective
Grand Finals return to the Strathmore Community Bank EDFL this weekend!
After two weeks of finals played in great spirits, we will see our first premiership in 2023 awarded when the girls from Aberfeldie and Keilor run out in our AGA Under 18.5 Women’s competition on Saturday morning at Highgate Reserve.

Then on Sunday, several junior teams will be striving for glory in our iFLY Melbourne Division 5 and 6 competitions with Grand Finals to be played at Lionheart Reserve and Martin Reserve with a number of preliminary finals also taking place at multiple venues. Finals football will also continue in our Airport Toyota Women’s competitions. The Airport Toyota Women’s Premier Division Preliminary Final will follow the Under 18.5 Women’s Grand Final in what is set to be a big day out there at Craigieburn!
Monk Oval will also play host to our Airport Toyota Women’s Division One and Division Two Preliminary Finals.
To all those who have qualified for finals, I congratulate you on your seasons thus far and wish all players, coaches, volunteers, and umpires the very best of luck for the weekend!
Thank you to all the clubs that have or will host EDFL finals.
I’d also like to thank the tremendous work of the EDFL staff who have put in countless hours to ensure we have had a well-run and successful season in 2023. The support and leadership from Chairman Bernie Shinners and the EDFL board must also be acknowledged.
It’s been great to see improved behaviour from all around the grounds and we’re looking forward to more of that at our packed finals venues!
Good luck to ALL sides.
