Alumni Stories

Alex Mills, EB class of 2009, was an avid reader and writer and in his early days, a fan of adventure novels. To honor Alex’s memory, his family created the Alex Mills Memorial Fund, in support of EB’s library. Funds contributed by family, friends, and community members will go towards building a new amphitheater in the Lower School library, inviting students to sit back and relax with a book, much as Alex used to do. A portion of the funds was also used this past fall to purchase a special collection of books for the library, focused on diverse protagonists and perspectives. We are very excited to have these books accessible for teachers and students to enjoy and be inspired by, and to remember Alex as bookplates in honor of him grace the front pages of this collection. EB will remember his spirit through this special collection and amphitheater, inspiring a new generation of readers and writers. In loving memory of Alex Mills.
