Register Now for August Jewel Softball Classic Inaugural Tournament Benefits the Athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — All corporate, recreational, competitive and law enforcement softball teams are invited to participate in the inaugural August Jewel Softball Classic on August 20, 2011. This fun-filled tournament is hosted by Diamond Nation, the nation’s premier baseball and softball tournament and training complex, in Flemington, NJ. Teams will compete for incentives while enjoying a day filled with music, raffles and entertainment for the whole family. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics New Jersey, which provides sports training and athletic competition to over 22,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The tournament format will be pool play with pool winners advancing into single elimination play. There is a minimum guarantee of three games for each 12-member team. Divisions will include Men’s Competitive, Women’s Competitive, Co-Ed Recreational, and Men’s Recreational. Competitive teams are comprised of organized competitive level participants who compete in seasonal and tournament play. Recreational teams are comprised of corporate, casual or recreational players. Co-ed Recreational teams must include a minimum of four women on the field. Law Enforcement teams are welcome and must include 50% law enforcement personnel team members. All registered players will receive food vouchers, a tournament t-shirt and a team photo. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
