It’s that time of year again for the muchanticipated Bangalow Show. Every year since 1897 the Showgrounds come alive with activities galore. This year is the 122nd show and is being held on November 17 and 18. The theme is ‘Family’ this year and attendees are encouraged to check out the stage display and try and spot someone you know from the slideshow playing on the stage or from the family trees submitted by locals. The Pavilion, as always, will be filled with everything you can imagine that can be made, baked or grown and it’s always fabulous to see how talented our community is. It will be open for viewing from lunchtime Friday and all-day Saturday. Start your Friday early and catch the action in the working dogs trials. Breakfast is served in Lions Kiosk from 7am so you can have a brekkie burger while you watch the dogs’ prowess in the ring.

The team at Castrikum Adams Legal and Bangalow Conveyancing are passionate about our local area and supporting our community. Our practice areas include: Conveyancing | Building & Construction Disputes | Property | Contract Disputes | Leasing | Estate Planning | Elder Law We work together to achieve your goals, no matter how complicated they seem. Proudly supporting the Bangalow Show.

There will be plenty of activity in the rings from 9am with dairy cattle, led and ridden classes for the horses, showjumping, and campdraft starting in the afternoon. A perfect place to while away a couple of hours, watching the horses, is the deck at Moller Pavilion where you can grab a coffee and cake and relax in the shade. Of course, on both days there will be plenty for the kids in Sideshow Alley, courtesy of the Showmen’s Guild. The usual baby animals will be there, Steve’s Reptiles, and this year will also have Stan Ceglinski showing off his bush woodworking skills, with activities for all to try their hand at. King Brown the Camp Oven

King will also be on hand to tempt you with his delicious camp oven creations. Friday afternoon is our favorite Pet Parade at 4pm – bring your spiffy pets along then have a wander through Sideshow Alley and onto the Village Green where Hubcap Stan & The Sidewalk Stompers will entertain you as you grab an early dinner from one of the food trucks or Lions Kiosk. Saturday begins with a full day of horse, cattle, and poultry competitions. All the usual events are back including the hotly contested ‘Tart of the Show’ competition. This year’s tart is lemon and blueberry. The Boot Toss and kids’ games will be held on the Village Green and Helly Hoops will be entertaining the little ones. The Official opening is set for 2pm with Bangalow Herald Bush Poet’s Prize and the Bang Burger Bar ‘Big Bang Bite’ eating competition to follow in the Village Green. Entertainment in the main ring Saturday afternoon comes in the form of 2UP Entertainment – set to wow with their horsemanship hijinks. The Stockman Ironman competition, Dog High Jump, and this year, a Farm Kids Challenge (think stockmen for teens) and much more will also be happening. The Rochelle Lees Band and spectacular fireworks will finish off a fantastic two days. Gate entry is $15 adult, pensioner/high school $7 and under-12 free.
