Owing to rising COVID-19 case numbers, the annual book fair, that was planned for the Byron Bay Surf Club this coming weekend, has been cancelled. The artwork for NAIDOC Week in this week’s Echo masthead is Firestorm by Gloria Gardiner, with thanks to Ninbella Gallery. Cape Byron Lighthouse has been named the 2021 Heritage Lighthouse of the Year, by the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA).
