engineering and music has had a big influence on the theme of Kiki On Byron; she has worked at several top recording studios in Sydney and also completed her Bachelor of Audio at SAE in Byron Bay. Max was a commercial pilot in America. They grew up in New Zealand and Bondi, and Saphia has been in the Bay on and off for ten years – now the pair have settled in town and made Kiki the axis of awesome. So what is Kiki on Byron? Kiki is a live music venue, a tapas restaurant and cocktail bar with direct views of Main Beach – what more could you possibly want for an afternoon into the evening at Byron? Saphia says that what she loves most is the live music component and meeting the different musicians from around the area who come to play. ‘I love having the opportunity to curate a space that brings joy to people through music and good vibes,’ she says. Max enjoys meeting people from all different walks of life and giving customers a positive experience and enhanced sense of community. Patrons at Kiki are really getting into the house cocktails, the beach location and the diverse live music. ‘We have been getting the most positive feedback on the jazz nights, on our house

cocktails and of course, on our friendly staff,’ smiles Saphia. ‘We are really excited to be providing great live music to the community and showcasing local talent from various backgrounds. On Thursday nights we will be having a Latin/jazz guitarist and $12 sangria jugs, on Friday nights we have a funk fusion band and $17 cocktail specials.’ Saphia says Saturday nights are the crème de la crème. ‘Saturdays are the jazz nights with a killer band and a cheese board and wine special for $60.
