Suffolk Park-based comic author Holly English has released her latest work, which tackles chronic pain, and her personal account of her grandmother’s life and death. Holly says, ‘Great help is given to those with cancer,
stroke, autism etc (and rightly so), but people suffering from long-term chronic conditions often lack the long-term intensive support they need’. The comic is available at www.hollyenglish.com.
Library of STUFF needs a home Community Library of Stuff organisers say they are urgently looking for a place to call home in Mullum. Sasha Mainsbridge from Mullum Cares says the project, which aims to offer household items for loan, is on hold until a space large enough is found. ‘Items like pressure cleaners, hedge trimmers, tents, drills, gazebos, board games, and camping gear are already in the inventory with plans to extend to include large items like a garden mulcher, standup paddle boards, a fully stocked sporting equipment category, and as many other irregularly used items
as their members desire. ‘They have money available for purchasing inventory items but no more room to house them’. She is calling out to Mullum landholders for a space to set up a large shed of 21m x 7m. ‘We are also very happy to utilise an existing building if a suitable one were to be offered. This call out is urgent, as we have a grant allocation from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal that is dependent on our having a permanent and adequate space by October – so time is running out’.
