One Green Acre at the Bangalow Bowlo opened in March this year, but although the business is only three months old, owner Sacha Meier is a veteran with over 30 years’ experience in hospitality and events. Something that’s always been important to Sacha is to make the local produce the hero, and thanks to his work at The Farm Byron Bay and as head chef at The Treehouse on Belongil, Sacha has some strong and longstanding relationships with local growers and suppliers. Recent collaborations have been with local businesses such as 96 Bangalow, Fair Game Wild Venison, and Stone & Wood to offer: • Tues: Stone & Wood Curry Night • Thurs: Bangalow 96 Chook Night • Sun: Argentine Barbecue & Sunday Sesh. Recently joining Sacha and the One Green Acre team, head chef Rob McWhinnie shares the love for locally sourced produce, and has a particular interest in fermenting and the skill of pasta making. The new winter menu is guaranteed to warm your soul, featuring house-made pasta with Ballina prawns, wild-caught venison and chili beer mussels amongst a whole range of other winter favourites. In late June, One Green Acre and The Bowlo launched their 2019 Events Package, boasting five large events spaces, which can be tailored for either a corporate conference with large open break-out spaces, a stunning venue for a wedding overlooking the bowling green, or a post-wedding barefoot bowls and beers. One Green Acre also offers catering anywhere in the beautiful Byron Bay hinterland all the way up to Brisbane. The Bowlo has been a rediscovered favourite with locals in the last few years, and One Green Acre has been carrying on the recent tradition. It’s a divine place to share a glass of wine and meal with friends while listening to live music on a Friday evening, or the perfect spot to take the kids and meet friends for a spot of lunch, while the kids enjoy roaming around the expansive play areas. One Green Acre at The Bangalow Bowlo Open Monday – Sunday all day 21 Byron Bay Rd, Bangalow www.onegreenacre.com.au
