The Commercial Boutique Hotel Tenterfield is a renewed vision of the original 1940s Art Deco Commercial Hotel, reopened in September 2014 after being closed for eight years. The careful renovation by the Sibley and Dillon families aimed to give the hotel a new lease on life through restoration and transformation. The result is a beautiful hotel (with no gambling facilities!). The original intriguing features of the building have been enhanced, such as the ceiling cornices in the lounge area, the bare hardwood floors, and the beautiful original open fireplace
in the lounge has been recommissioned. There are numerous fulllength mirrors in the upstairs hallway, allowing the original silky-oak architraves to remain intact while creating more natural light, and of course giving the guests every opportunity to look their best. The original 1941 construction plans along with local photos of the era and some original hand-painted in-room advertisements are on the wall in the bar and lobby. Harvest general manage Moira Waterfall said, ‘The fundraising began with the @harvestdeli coffee cart’s gold coin initiative that raised $500. The Harvest restaurant staff raised $1,200 in tips in four days, As a team, we all wanted to do something more, and because of the support of so many sponsors the event was terrifically successful. This is community and hospitality at its finest.’

Thank you to all the people who saw the publicity in The Echo and went to Harvest in Newrybar. $20,000 was raised for Lismore flood victims. $10,500 has gone to @ FlockEspressoLismore so they can reopen their cafe. This is the exact amount they will pay for bond on their new place. The remaining $9,500 of funds will be distributed to the public through a community project.
