Byron School of Clay is an education centre dedicated to teaching pottery and ceramic art. Tucked away in Byron Arts & Industry Estate, they run wheel-throwing courses, weekend workshops and children’s classes.

BYRON WRITERS FESTIVAL

They are now taking enrolments for Term 2 ‘Introduction to Wheel Throwing’, a seven-week course for beginners and students with previous pottery experience. Commencing 26 April, the morning and evening classes run Monday– Thursday.

Byron Writers Festival presents a range of workshops throughout the year to support its vibrant community of writers and thinkers. Our workshops, run by established writers and industry professionals, cover topics from writing fiction and memoir to blogging, editing and publishing.

The fundamentals of Novel Writing with Sarah Armstrong Enrol in Byron School of Clay’s 7-week course ‘Introduction to Wheel Throwing’ & experience the simple pleasures of pottery.

Local writer Sarah Armstrong (author of Promise and the Miles Franklin-shortlisted Salt Rain) will be running a six-week master class on the fundamentals of novel writing. Commencing on Saturday 6 May, each week she will delve into a different aspect of the novel, including plot, character, point of view, setting and the tricky process of redrafting. If you have a work-in-progress or an idea brewing, this course is for you.
