Thomgallery, situated in Byron Bay’s industrial estate, opened its doors on 11 November last year, with the intention of bringing high-end art to the people of Byron Bay and surrounding areas. Thomgallery showcases some of Australia’s finest established and upcoming artists, with sculpture by Christian Maas, and will be hosting six– seven shows per year. For its second show, in association with Harvey Galleries in Sydney, Thomgallery is exhibiting the works of Spanish abstract artist Conchita Carambano. Utilising mixed media, oil, acrylic and wax, Conchita draws inspiration from nature to produce engaging artworks characterised by organic forms and a sensous use of space, colour and symmetry. The opening launch starts at 2pm and runs till 9pm on 11 February with a bouncing castle and food truck. Exhibition ends 4 March. ‘We want everyone to be able to come and be part of the day and to witness the art and sculpture we have on show at Thomgallery.’ Thomgallery hours are Midday–5pm Thursday till Monday. Private appointments can be made outside these hours on 0411 813 999. Browse the website at thomgallerybyronbay.com.au.
