The Arts Unearth your local potter on The North Coast Mud Trail Festivals on the north coast are renowned for their mud, but none have ever been so dependent on the oozy, sticky stuff until now. On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August, potters throughout the country will throw open their doors to the public and 18 ceramic artists in the Byron Shire invite you to join them in 13 inspiring studios on the North Coast Mud Trail. Unearth your local potter and get your hands dirty in a workshop, be inspired by artists’ talks, or purchase a piece of Australian ceramics. Find the North Coast Mud Trail program in cafes and galleries or download your copy at www.facebook.com/ NorthCoastMudTrail. Studios are open from 10am till 4pm and entry is free. Enquiries: Claire Atkins 0420 986 570 and Suvira McDonald 6684 9194.

Katka Adams Princess
Parade by Katka Adams Katka Adams’s playful drawings depict adorned animals and domestic objects that capture the ceremony of tradition. Using a combination of bold colour palettes and dramatic lighting, each work isolates a moment of reverie for the everyday. This exhibition celebrates the existence of the ordinary and on a deeper level, explores the symbolism of a universal psyche and the human spirit.
