Apparently teen idol Justin Bieber visited Byron Bay last week but we were so busy swooning with indifference we forgot to hound him. The Gold Coast council is not indifferent, however, to Mr Bieber spraying graffiti on a local hotel. The hotel itself is happy to keep it but the mayor wants it gone. Reminds us of the time in 1990 artist Brett Whiteley drew a charcoal sketch of his naked girlfriend on the Wategos Beach public toilet wall and council workers later scrubbed it off. Had Council auctioned off the wall they might be able to pay for their upcoming NYE celebrations.
