SEWER MAIN UPGRADE – BANGALOW RAIL PROJECT 24.2012.77.1 As a result of engineering assessments and a review of environmental impacts Council has determined to replace an existing sewerage main under Bangalow-Lismore Road adjacent to the start of the 60km/h speed zone at the western end of town.

Minor delays can be expected during the event, which will require traffic control plus road closures of Brooke Drive (ie the entrance to The Pass) and on Lighthouse Road between Brooke Drive and the Lighthouse entry. These closures are estimated for up to 30 minutes; approximately from 7.10am to 7.40am. Kendall Street, Byron Bay Replacement Water Main Quotations are invited for the construction of approximately 260 metres of 180mm PE water main in Kendall Street between Border Street and Shirley Street, Byron Bay. Preliminary design drawings are available on request, these drawings will be reviewed and finalised in consultation with the successful contractor. The work involves three underbore sections and an intermediate section of construction that can be either trenched or underbored. A council representative will be available for a site meeting and discussion at 8.00am on Tuesday, 3 September 2013. Quotations will be received up until 10 October 2013 and should indicate the earliest date works can be commenced.
