LISMORE REGIONAL GALLERY

Survivor is a major art project by Indonesian-Australian artist Dadang Christanto. Initially developed in 2008 as a live protest against an environmental disaster that occurred in East Java, which saw hot volcanic mud wipe out 11 villages and destroy many lives, Survivor has since migrated beyond cultural borders, evolving into a universal, multi-faceted reflection upon human survival and what it means to endure tragic historical events, loss and death. Bananas, Business & Bocce: The Lismore Italians, curated by Leonie Lane, will tell the stories of people who journeyed from Italy to Lismore to make a new life for themselves and their families. It will reflect the heritage of the Italian community in Lismore and draw from historical collections, photographs and personal memories. Palate at the Gallery. Perry describes his food as Contemporary Australian Mediterranean Cuisine and believes in letting the produce play the starring role. Don’t forget Palate at the gallery’s reciprocal discount deal with The Star Court Theatre. Receive a discount movie voucher when you spend $15 or more per person.
