Sixth Form Code of Conduct - Rules and Responsibilities Ashford School Sixth Form offers both opportunities and challenges. There are expectations of you with regard to your appearance, attitude and achievement but also expectations that you will take a lead in the life of the school. In the Sixth Form there is more liberty to undertake personal study, be off campus at lunch times and make use of the Sixth Form centre, including use of computers and the Common Room. It is the aim of the school that you create a positive working ethos that then filters down through the school. Please remember: • To go off campus you MUST sign in and out in reception. • The Somerville Library is a place for quiet work. Please ensure a tidy and peaceful working environment. • It is your responsibility to keep the Common Room tidy at all times. This includes using the bookstores and putting belongings into lockers. • The TV in the Common Room is not to be used during lessons. • The Common Room is a social area, so should not be used during lesson time or during study periods. • Pupils must register at Reception if they have a study period during lesson 6. Responsibilities: It is our expectation that, as the senior students in the school, Sixth Form students take a lead in the school. This includes setting up and running some activities, organising events and setting an example to the younger pupils. Privileges: • You may go to lunch early at 12:30 if you have a study period. • You may go off campus (into town) at lunch times. • You may use the Atrium during your study periods, for example if you need to discuss work with others. • Prefects may go off campus during study periods but must sign out at Reception.
