Lois & Arnold Domer Fund

ECCF owes its existence to the vision, generosity, and dedication of many people. Among them are Lois and Arnold Domer, whose gift created a legacy that’s still enhancing the Eau Claire area’s quality of life.

Arnie Domer’s great financial success was no accident: Through hard work and perseverance, he went from delivering baked goods as a boy to owning Arnie’s Ski and Garden Center, a thriving business that was an Eau Claire landmark for years.

The Domers wanted their impact on Eau Claire to live on long after them. They made a one-million-dollar donation to what was then the Eau Claire Area Foundation because, as Arnie explained, “We made it here—we want to leave it here!”

Arnie passed away soon after making his gift, but his vision was fulfilled. Grants from this unrestricted fund address a variety of pressing local needs, with a special emphasis on the Domers’ passions: animals, the environment, and outdoor activities.

The Fund that Arnie and Lois created has already had an incredible impact on the community, and that impact will continue for years to come.
