A little white chrysanthemum. It is funny how things follow you about. When I picked up my trolley from the rank at the supermarket this single, little white flower was just lying there smiling at me. It had obviously fallen off someone else’s bunch. I just couldn’t throw it away. As I filled my trolley I kept moving it to safety. Getting to the check-out I forgot about it and started packing the purchases away in my bags. Towards the end the jam-jar with the black lid slid up. On top of it was the chrysanthemum looking happy and smiling, so was I and the check-out lady, too. It has faded now lying on my desk next to the laptop.
