…by doing needs assessments. All parts of our region have been or are currently being assessed. …by standardizing policies. We are currently evaluating and reviewing our policies and standards to ensure they are followed consistently across the region, and we have completely integrated our clinical programs. We have worked with a number of partners to ensure our services met the needs of all the people we serve under our regional mandate and provincial mandate. Some of this work includes: • Working alongside the Department of Health and Community Services to align our strategic plans, operational plans, strategies and frameworks with the Provincial Government’s strategic directions. • Strengthening relationships with all of the Regional Health Authorities to discuss common issues and the various links between the services they provide and the services we provide at Eastern Health. • Formalizing and developing links with outside partners, including school boards, the Provincial Government, post-secondary institutions, and fee-for-service family physicians. We have improved access to our services throughout the region in various ways: • Client Centred Waitlist Management • Diagnostic Waitlist Plan • Central Intake • Advancing Primary Health Care initiatives, like the New Hope clinic • Initiatives to improve access to priority services, like expanding the pre-admission clinic for Pediatric Surgery and implementing dialysis services in various parts of the region
