MEET MORNING MATT Matt Daines, better known as Morning Matt, joined Eagle Radio in November 2012 as part of the station’s ‘Academy’ programme. He assisted on The Peter Gordon Breakfast Show every Thursday morning, editing, producing, taking calls and making copious cups of tea (with the tea bag left in) for PG. Since then, Matt has become a regular fixture on the PGBS, completing the breakfast show team with PG and Bev and recently even found love thanks to ‘Find Morning Matt a Date’, a feature on the show. My Alarm Goes Off At 3.30am! I snooze until 3.45, then 3.50, 3:52, 3:55 and then roll out of bed at 4.00am! : ) Quick shower and a coffee, and then I am on the road! I met my new girlfriend thanks to an on-air competition. Yep! Three first dates with a guy that can’t pronounce the word ‘thousand’ …what could possibly go wrong! To be honest, I really didn’t think anything would come from it…so imagine my shock when she agreed to go on a second date!

Working with PG and Breakfast Bev is crazy! Exactly how you hear them on the radio is what they are like off air! From making funny, random noises (PG) to dancing around the studio to songs from Dirty Dancing (Bev)
There have been so many special days at Eagle Radio – Freddie’s Friday, Local Radio Day, Random Acts of Kindness – it’s really hard to pick a fav….but a day that stands out for me was when Breakfast Bev decided to sing ‘Never Going To Give You Up’ to Rick Astley before we sat down to interview him….the whole room fell silent and the level of embarrassment was immense. She even did the dance moves!!
