CAREER AS A SECURITY GUARD

Mostly, people picture a security guard as a person who stands outside buildings in a uniform for the safety of the area and related people. Security guards might not be involved in a lot of action but they prevent a crime from happening just by their presence. Some of us might even call a security guard as an irritating person who just stares at people passing by or greeting them, but few of us know that actually he is the one who makes an area safer. With the advent of time, people are changing their views about security guards; they are no longer seen lowly. It is not guaranteed that all sorts of crimes will end with the presence of a guard however; he might be able to keep the situation under control. As security guards administer the entry and exit points of buildings, they need to have a photogenic memory. Security cameras might also help but with a good memory security guards might recognize a criminal, stop him from entering the building, and hand him over to the police. When a security guard is appointed at a particular company, he is required to follow their rules and regulations because it his foremost duty to serve his employer in compliance to their rules. However, problems arise when the rules coincide with that of the company where a security guard is appointed.


A security guard is not required to stand at one place all day long, but he can also be assigned to patrol some specifics areas of a building which require some more protection. In some cases, security guards are appointed at control rooms where monitors are placed showing CCTV footages. The security guard is required to monitor the entire building through those cameras by keeping an eye on the movement of people inside the building. People mostly think that security guards stay where they are appointed, however, in some cases security guards are in charge of safe delivery of money to or from the bank, to the ATM machines etc. They are responsible for safe and sound delivery of valuables from one place to another. A mobile security guard is always at high risk; therefore banks provide them with dummy armor vans so that the robbers have no clue of the exact time of delivery of valuables. Mostly security guards are employed at a private security agency from where they are then appointed to different clients, at private retail stores, museums etc. The growth rate for security guards is rising day by day and at the moment it is above average. However, advancements in technology have reduced the need for security guards, but the power of a computer can never out power a human brain in intelligence. Generally, a security guard services is required to have minimum education level of high school but if he is going to work for the Government then he needs to pass certain tests and get approval.
