Edit 1099 Transaction Information Window By Linda Brock, The Knaster Technology Group

Now that the year-end crush is over, use your extra breathing room to make next yearend smoother and easier. Use the new to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Edit 1099 Transaction Information window to modify 1099 amounts or change 1099 tax types for a group of transactions—one vendor at a time. When you process the changes, the transactions are updated in both the Open and History tables. The benefit of using this window rather than merely manually updating the 1099 Details window is that the Edit 1099 Transaction Information window makes the change permanent in the transaction tables. When you open the Edit 1099 Transaction Information window from the Purchasing – Transactions menu, you can select from a list of 1099 vendors. If the vendor you need does not show up on the lookup list, first open the Vendor Maintenance window under the Purchasing – Cards menu and change the vendor to a 1099 Type. After you select the appropriate vendor, you can choose to view the 1099 Debit Transactions, All Debit Transactions, or All Credit Transactions for that vendor. You can restrict for a document or a date range, making it easier to concentrate on the year in question. From there, you can edit the Tax Type, Box Number, and/or 1099 Amount for each individual transaction. When you finish your edits, simply click the Process button at the top of the window, and your changes update the tables mentioned above. When you close the window, an audit report is printed. Now you need never worry about wiping out your manual changes when reconciling the purchasing series again, and you will be more than ready for year-end 2014!
