STATIC QR CODES VS. DYNAMIC QR CODES: ULTIMATE COMPARISON

QR stands for “Quick Response”. It is an information-carrying optical label that can be scanned by machines. It's often used to save URLs or other information for reading by a smartphone's camera. Here, we will discuss 2 types of QR codes: Static QR Code and Dynamic QR Code. Static QR Codes carry fixed information. Whenever a static QR Code is scanned, it delivers the information and also directly encodes it in the QR code itself. Static QR Codes have an integrated URL that points to a specific location. A Dynamic QR is a type of QR code that can be changed after creation. It means you can modify the information encoded in it without creating and distributing new QR Codes. This code is simpler to scan. In this article, we will compare both the QR Codes on certain parameters.

STATIC QR CODES VS DYNAMIC QR CODES Comparison between both the QR codes on following parameters: 1. Ability to modify Static codes as per their names are static, they cannot be edited or modified once they are created. If you want to solve any mistake or update anything, you have to create a new code. Dynamic codes can be edited if any change is required. Also, they can be edited quickly & easily. 2. Ability to track Static Codes cannot be tracked on the QR generator dashboards. Also, as one cannot see any details of the performance of QR codes, marketing campaigns would be more difficult to evaluate. While the tracking of dynamic codes is a big plus. By using dynamic code all types of information like – when code was scanned, how many times it was scanned, the device used to scan, etc. can be found out. 3. Ability to fix errors Static codes cannot be modified after creation, so the user will have to make a new QR code to rectify the error or mistake. In dynamic codes, it is simple and quick to correct typos and errors. The creator can easily edit or modify the information. 4. Ability to shorten URLs If you wish to shorten the URL with an external shortener, static codes can support it. However, it scans a little slower if it isn’t shortened. Dynamic QR makes use of short URLs, which is the reason why they are less complicated. They scan a little faster compared to Static QR. 5. Ability to work in a fast-paced marketing campaign As static codes are not editable, it becomes difficult to use static codes in agile marketing campaigns. And, if we talk about dynamic code, then they are much suitable for marketing campaigns because they are trackable and changeable. Marketing personnel can easily adjust the campaign by using data & analytics.

CONCLUSION In conclusion, we would say that both QR codes have their own features and functionalities. You can use which suits your requirement. However, if we see in above parameters than Dynamic QR Code are better compared to Static QR Codes.
