Inspired by the life of Nina Simone, Black Is The Color Of My Voice follows a successful jazz singer and civil rights activist seeking redemption after the untimely death of her father. She reflects on the journey that took her from a young piano prodigy destined for a life in the service of the church, to a renowned jazz vocalist at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement. Fri 7 October, 7.30pm Scotland’s Number One comedy promoters bring their brand of Award Winning Comedy nights to Dundee Rep Theatre, with Frankie Boyle & Friends. The King of Darkness makes his way to Dundee with a few comedy friends in tow for a night to remember. After his appearances on Mock The Week, Live at The Apollo and Live Floor Show, Frankie Boyle established himself as one of the best comedians in the country if not the world. Supporting Frankie on the night will be Scottish Comedy Legend Fred MacAulay. Fred arrived late to the world of stand-up comedy but has gone on to be a regular at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (2015 was his 27th Fringe) and at comedy festivals worldwide. Also on the bill is Scott Gibson. Regarded by many to be the best act to emerge from Scotland in years. Recommended for ages 16+
