Lindberg,anestheticianbytrade,rents a space insideAvenue 45, asaloninDuluth’s Lakeside neighborhood. Here, she offers a special niche of services includingeyebrow/ eyelash tinting,browdesign,eyelash liftsand body waxing.

Lindbergisoriginally from theBrooklyn Center area, butnow considers Duluthher home. Sheattended Empire Beauty School at 22 after alifelong interest in makeup.

“I honestly figuredIwould finish school, do bridalmakeupand that would be that,” she said. “When Igot to school, Ifound Ireally loved cosmetic chemistry, skincare and waxing –the threethingsI thought Iwould struggle with and hate! Ialways did people’sbrows in school, and then the cosmetology side of school heard about my work and they started coming overtoget their brows done, too.

“When Ifinished school, Idecidedtomove to Duluth, even though the jobprospects seemed(and usuallyare)betterdownthere for estheticians,” shecontinued. “But, agood esthetician will builda following anywhere, becauseit’sa job that entirely relies on your ability to develop relationships with your clientele.Istartedata franchise in Duluth andbuilt anamefor myself within that space. Worth the wait

With acurrentwaittimestretching 12 weeks into the future, Lindberg is in highdemand. Whileher eyebrowand eyelashservicesare incrediblypopular, so isher body waxing. She estimates she has 100 “regulars” who return each month for thepopular Brazilian wax.

Beyondher full-time schedule, Lindberg also offers what she calls “overtime services,” where she willwork beyond her regular hours for a50percent markupinher fees.Plenty of clients are happy to paythatprice to the talented Lindberg, who is affectionately known as Duluth’s “browwhisperer,” to avoid the threemonth wait time.

Success hasbeen hard-won for Lindberg, now 29, who experiencedhomelessnessasa teenager. She livedfor atimeatDuluth’sLife House, asafealternativetothe streets.

“Ifitweren’tfor LifeHouse, Iwouldn’t be where Iamtoday,” she said. “Life House helpedmedevelopinto aconfident, goaloriented youngwoman. Theyare the real superstarhere, honestly. When you areasad, broken and exceptionally angry teenager, you aren’t receivedwithalot of patience. Life House waspatient,kindand giving. Nomatter what Iamabletodonateand give them, Ican never repaywhat theydid for me.

Lindberg is humbled andgratefultobe named the winner of the Duluth News Tribune’s “Best of the Best” award, in the category of best cosmetic/esthetic clinic. She also earnedthe mostvotes in the services category.

“I wasreally excited when Igot the call, especiallysince I’veonlybeenopensince November2017,” she said. “When Iwentinto businessfor myself,I wasalittlenervous becauseitwas ‘make it or break it’for me. So, this award is arealconfidence-booster.I
