Our inspiration for “Salvator”comes from both a scienti c and biblical perspective. We wrote the story with one question in mind: What would a realistic retelling of “David and Goliath” look like? e title, “Salvator”, is a speci c genus of lizard, which also translates to “savior” from Latin. Now, what is Sigmund saving, you might ask? We don’t know. But maybe you do. Or maybe not. We don’t particularly care either way. “Salvator” is a story of regret and longing, power and injustice, struggle and ultimate defeat. We hope that it makes “Salvator” is a story of regret and longing, power and injustice, struggle and ultimate defeat. We hope that it makes you laugh and cry (tears of joy). Perhaps, a David will never be able to defeat their Goliath–at least not without cheating. But it can’t hurt to try. Just remember that sometimes, like Sigmund, all you have to do is wake up.
