lassic cars have a funny way of reigniting memories long forgotten. This issue is filled with them—many of the subjects of this issue confess their love for their vintage machines.

Up-and-coming lyricist from Maybach Music Group, Stalley, can be heard referencing his appreciation for old school rides throughout his musical catalog. His top choices of classics include Camaros, Caprices, Chevelles, Barracudas and Cutlass Supremes, with a ’68 Camaro and ’86 Monte Carlo sitting pretty in his garage. ORACLE Lighting/Advanced Automotive Concepts decided their 2010 Camaro needed its 1969 forefather to highlight the stark transformation of the old to the new. But that’s not the only transformed Camaro in our pages. For this month’s Factory Tuned, we showcase a decked-out 2010 Camaro HPE600 that owner Ricky Mason had been lusting after ever since he first laid his eyes on a 1969 Camaro SS as a kid. Another fan of classics is Clippers point guard Mo Williams, who has an impressive collection of classic American metal that include a ’64 Impala, ’69 Camaro, ’96 Impala and his 1972 Buick Centurion, which he bought back in his rookie year. He attributes his love for classic cars to his “old soul.”

For Ralph Holguin of RMD Group, owning pieces of history is more than just a walk through memory lane—it’s essential. His ’56 Big Window Ford F-100 is an ode to his dad, who owned a similar truck when Holguin was a child. The F-100 isn’t the only thing from days long gone in his garage; Holguin has his own vintage museum where he keeps classic Schwinn bikes and other goodies he’s always wanted but couldn’t afford until now.

Cars are also great for forging new experiences. Tyga’s gold Audi R8 and Drophead Phantom are testaments to his newfound success, something he’ll always be aware of whenever he drives them. Then there’s New Orleans Hornets small forward Trevor Ariza, who only gets behind the wheel of a new car once it’s customized to his own unique specifications.

Here’s to the cars that are worth remembering. Enjoy 78!
