Killer Kreations x Pauly D

F

red Sicoli of Killer Kreations is more than a customizer, he’s an artist. Life-like murals and intricate one-off bike/car creations are his calling card and he has quickly become a household name within car enthusiast circles. But since he first and foremost passion deals with bikes, he's recently went back to his roots and created a one-of-a-kind Killer Kreations bike for energetic DJ Pauly D. How did this special bike for Pauly D come about? Fred: What happened was that somehow my wife got in contact with Ryan Labbe, he’s Pauly’s good friend and now works for him. At first, they were only going to get turntables airbrushed, but I suggested the bike. It was supposed to be a birthday present, but that fell through since he was filming “Jersey Shore” on his birthday. We then tried to unveil it at the 2011 SEMA Show, but that fell through ‘cause of conflicting schedules. So we just unveiled it at the Palms in Vegas two weeks before SEMA, which is where he has a DJ residency.

TECH SPECS:

Did Pauly know about it? Most of the stuff was between Ryan and I. Pauly had an idea of what was happening, but he didn’t know what he was getting entirely. I still had to get info from Ryan, so we sort of snuck around behind him since it was supposed to be a surprise. Originally, we were going to go with an Italian-themed bike, but he didn’t want that. We found out he wanted a DJ theme and so I picked out everything he uses and put the mural on the bike together to reflect his personal tastes. What did the bike process entail? It took at least three months to get everything together. I contacted a friend, Allen Lane from SportBikes Inc. Magazine, and he helped me get the bike through Suzuki. Once we got the bike, I was able to start getting parts for it. For the most part, everybody donated parts for the build. I took care of designing the bike, artwork and the paint. Then had my in-house mechanic, Harry Berkeley, put it all together.

Will there be any more Pauly D projects? I’m hoping to work on other stuff with him but not sure since we both have really busy schedules. But I’d definiltey like to link up sometime in the near future. This one was really fun and overall a great experience. We had a great time in Vegas and hanging with him was awesome. The unveiling was a great party, too! What else has Killer Kreations been working on? Getting ready for 2012 SEMA already and getting ready for Philly auto show. Doing new things like home shows, comic book conventions since we focus on art, we want to do different shows related to art and focus on artwork, not only just bikes and cars. I want to showcase more of our art on other mediums. We’re also hoping to do more collaborations with celebrities in the future, too. I’m actually working on a couple right now, but I can’t really talk about them just yet. I was also going to try getting into doing tattoos, but since I’m so busy right now, I might never get any sleep if I do [laughs].
