About this book This book was created by Duane Kuss, hunting historian for the Sand River Hilton legacy. Duane began tracking the annual hunting results in the late 1970’s and began publishing various editions of the hunting history in the late 1980’s. He continues to capture the annual stories in video, audio interviews and photos of this great family tradition.


Sand River Hunting 2008 Book This is a photo story book of the 2008 deer hunting season @ the Sand River Hilton hunting property in Pine County, Minnesota. It captures two weekends of hunting and includes photos of the two bucks shot by Jeramie Peterson and Duane Kuss. Participating hunters included: Daune Kuss, John Godava, Duane Kuss, Doug Smith, Todd Kuss, Jerry Kuss, Jason Kuss, Jeramie Peterson, Chelsea Kuss, Josh Kuss and Sam Kuss. Eleven hunters who enjoyed the luxury suites @ the Sand River Hilton V. This was the 48th hunting year since the Sand River property was first purchased. During this period 113 deer have officially shot on the property, 44 does and 69 bucks. These 113 deer were shot by 12 different hunters over the years. Leading the group are Daune Kuss and John Godava, the original owners of the Sand River property, both having shot 24 deer each over the years.
