Established in 1912 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Bin Dalmouk, Al Ahmadiya was Dubai’s first school and taught the Holy Qu’ran, Arabic calligraphy, grammar, mathematics and literature. Fees were nominal amounting to a couple of rupees. The tuition for students of impoverished families was paid by the sheikhs. In 1956, with the introduction of
