Coastal Culture - There is a rewarding diversity of arts and performance to be uncovered on the Gold Coast, much of it identifying a distinct regional character. The Arts Centre Gold Coast is at the centre of the scene, with a nationally recognised public art gallery and a considerable schedule of plays, performances and touring acts drawing locals and visitors to its beautiful theatre. Boutique galleries such as Rabbit+Cocoon (Miami), 19 Karen (Mermaid Beach), Gallery One (Southport), Anthea Polson Art (Main Beach), and The Way of Design (Currumbin Beach) are intriguingly dotted around the city and not only offer great art but regular workshops and events. Similarly woven into the fabric of the city is a thread of theatres and clubs which offer everything from classic to original works, some of these include the Spotlight Theatre (Benowa), Gold Coast Little Theatre (Southport), Javeenbah Theatre (Nerang), Tamborine Little Theatre (Mt Tamborine), Soapbox Theatre Productions, Tugun Theatre Company (Tugun) and North Shore Theatre Company.

Surf World Gold Coast - This is Queensland’s only surfing and beach culture museum. Exhibition includes an extensive collection of surfboards from the early 1930s to today, iconic surf images, ipads featuring legends and rare memorabilia.

Visual Splendour - Swell Sculpture Festival is a free outdoor exhibition that creates visual splendour amongst the natural coastal setting at Currumbin Beach. Over 10 days, visitors can experience the sculptures, enjoy twilight walks, and informative artist talks. Discover new perspectives at the Public Art Forum, wander through the Swell Smalls Gallery or participate in artist master classes and children’s workshops.
Beach Culture - Unleashing an artistic tidal wave that will engulf the Gold Coast, Bleach* Festival is set to return from 22nd Feb - 3rd March 2013. The festival embraces the beach heritage of the Southern Gold Coast, reimagining it in the form of a contemporary arts celebration. Bleach* Festival will kick off with Pre Bleach* Weekend festivities in Paradise Point, Burleigh Heads and Palm Beach on 15th-17th Feb. The official festival program will then roll through infamous Southern Gold Coast surf towns like Currumbin, Tugun, Kirra and Coolangatta.
