APS RECRUITMENT EFFORTS

One major goal for the APS program in 2022 is an expanded focus on staff recruitment through career fairs and other similar venues. On March 16, 2022, APS joined the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Transition Assistance Program at the American Lake Conference Center. The event was open to transitioning service members, veterans, and military family members. Employers present promoting careers in law enforcement, emergency medical services, customs & border protection, homeland security, firefighting, department of justice, and security services were all in attendance. This event served as an opportunity for APS staff to promote open positions and to network with community partners that serve the vulnerable adult population in Washington. In preparation for this event, APS partnered with communications staff to update recruitment materials, and are currently working on the development of an APS-specific careers webpage to provide detailed information about the organization and promote open positions to the public.

The outreach and engagement team along with leadership is looking to identify additional career fair opportunities throughout 2022 to promote APS to the wider Washington community.
