DR. FAZILA LALANI MD A Passion For Humanity

Dr Fazila Lalani has come a long way in a relatively short space of time. Currently Assistant Professor (Emergency Medicine) at the Northwell-Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Dr. Lalani graduated magna cum laude from Siena College with a Bachelor Of Arts In Biology awarded on a combined BA/MD Honors Program.

Fazila Lalani has spent a considerable amount of time working both overseas and in the United States in an attempt to improve the lot of those less fortunate than herself.

Indeed, her international voluntary work experience underlines her commitment to providing concrete assistance in some of the poorest areas of the world.

Fazila Lalani has worked as a Medical Relief Volunteer for the Patch Adams Foundation/AMURT Relief Program in Port-au-Prince and Hinge, Haiti.

Fazila Lalani joined the program 18 months ago, largely because of her love and belief in the positive effects of international medicine. She gave an extremely wellreceived talk on pulmonology last year, and proctored the Oral Boards for Graduating Residents.

Fazila Lalani, MD, reveals, despite having lived, studied, and worked in New York City for virtually all of her life, she still makes regular visits to India to join up with her family and to work as a Visiting Professor at the Mission Hospital Emergency Medical Residency Program in Durgapur, approximately 3 hours from Calcutta
