â—? During January mentors had a strong start after a month away from the Orchard Gardens community by recruiting new mentors to work with the program and holding two group programming sessions to acquaint new mentors and mentees to the program. o Mentors took mentees to Northeastern University to play games on January 20, 2018. o Mentors took mentees ice skating on January 27, 2018. Mentors and mentees alike, who had not been skating before, enjoyed the new challenge, while those who had some experience were able to empower and support the novice skaters.

Program Empowerment Director Perspective Areas of Growth: Mentors have truly bonded with their mentees and have started to become a cohesive community. Mentees seem more comfortable with their mentors and with the entire mentoring community. Mentees are compassionate for one another and stick up for eachother. Through support of their mentors they will continue to build strong bonds. Areas Needing Growth: Mentors plan good programming but could set intentional goals for the outcomes of their programming and with their mentees. This way mentors and mentees are on the same page. Mentors are working to ensure safe travel around the Boston area and while their current protocol works, they could work to be more aware of each other to ensure that everyone is accounted for.
