818 Post Medieval Miniature Paintings of Tudor Notables Circa 19th century, Victorian. A group of six miniature portraits in oil on ivory, each depicting a Tudor worthy; including Sir Thomas More, William Cecil, Cardinal Wolsey; supplied in ornate ormolu frames with coronet detail above. 819 Post Medieval Trooper’s Backsword by Hadley Circa 1798-1850 AD. A British trooper’s backsword with curved single-edged blade with a shallow fuller on each face, brass hilt with heart-shaped guard and bar, leather-covered grip and bulb pommel; stamped on one face of the blade ‘H[.]DLEY’ and on the other with the ‘king’s broad arrow’ over the letters ‘B C’ with a stamped mark above, without scabbard. Steel, brass and leather, 725 grams, 89 cm overall. Fine condition. £100 - 150 EUR 110 - 170 USD 170 - 250 Private collection, Nottinghamshire, UK; acquired late 1980’s-early 1990’s.
