Dr. Angela Carol

Dr. Angela Carol MD,CCFP,FCFP is a family physician who focuses on treating addiction, mental illness and chronic pain. With a background as a child and youth worker and a social worker and also by practicing medicine in a Community Health Centre in the heart of Hamilton’s Code Red Zone, her years of experience have fostered a sensitivity and prioritization of the needs for vulnerable populations. As a result she advocates for patients and breaks down barriers that prevent access. Dr. Carol works with a host of community stakeholders and provincial and national teams to confront the opioid crisis. This effort is further facilitated by her multidimensional experience and roles, including as a former medical advisor with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, as assistant clinical professor of family medicine on the faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and as lead physician at Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre.
