Safety and peace of mind thanks to OYSTER system

This summer, we have extended our offer with the new MiX Telematics system called the Oyster. The system allows for tracking and location of vehicles, wagons, containers, boats, as well as the increasingly popular campers.

The device is small and thanks to the application of advanced technology impossible to detect by means of typical scanners and similar devices. Small dimensions and "silent operation" allow to track the location of a vehicle equipped with such a transmitter, in the way unnoticed to the average user.

The system allows for a quick location of the stolen vehicle, container or camper and in special cases after changing the parameters it allows for continuous tracking.

This is particularly important when searching for a stolen property, and makes the work of the police and relevant services much easier. In such situations, Web programming allows for location with an accuracy of a few metres.

In the standard mode the device sends 1 heartbeat message per day, which ensures uninterrupted operation of a single internal battery set for up to three years.

The housing has the IP67 class of resistance to external conditions. Thus, the system can be installed in hard-to-reach places. An invisible system safely keeps an eye on our property.

As the electricity is supplied by three AAA batteries, the system does not require any additional power supply. Such solution allows for the off-site service, because the battery replacing is very easy and the installation does not require qualified specialist - it is so uncomplicated that any driver or owner can do it. It only takes is a few screws. As the contact with service is unnecessary, the total cost of a system is further decreased. As in the standard mode the device sends 1 heartbeat message per day, the system is practically undetectable for potential criminals.

Customers can track their assets on an interactive map, replay historical trips and use the Trip and Utilisation Timeline and Certificate and License Reminders.

Continuous battery level reporting and low battery alarm allows for reaction before the device stops reporting.

Two different modes of operation

! Standard Tracking: This option will do standard tracking and will send 1 heartbeat message per day – AVL frequency is 2 minutes and upload in trip - 30 minutes.

! Heartbeat AVL (automatic vehicle location) only: This option will not do any tracking, and will only report a single position once per day. This option is designed for assets that do not move too much and one would only like to know the last position and health of device. All movements will be ignored in this setting. This option will give the longest battery life – frequency of location report is every 12 hours.

Device characteristics:- no external antennas,- compact design, white housing,

- no additional power supply cables – the system is completely autonomous,

- IP67 class resistance i.e. complete dust and water-resistant (maximum depth of 1 meter up to 30 minutes),

- easy battery installation and replacement – authorized service is not required, so the user will not entail any additional costs

- operation for up to 3 years without servicing or other intervention,

- EU data transmission included in the subscription price.

We notice that nowadays campers are becoming more and more popular as a safe and comfortable way of spending holidays. Taking into account the costs of basic vehicle and increasingly sophisticated equipment (from the shower, through the air conditioning and heating units, to the advanced audio and video systems), such camper undoubtedly has a big value.
