Dana/TM4 SUMO LD HV1200 electric motor in MINI class electric bus manufactured by AUTOMET The fist in Europe

We are pleased to announce that as a result of established cooperation with AUTOMET company from Sanok, as the first company in Europe we delivered the Sumo LD HV 1200 electric motor to the MINI class electric bus .

The above mentioned vehicle, produced at the Sanok factory, is based on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis elements, but the body structure has been entirely developed and manufactured by Automet. Electric bus of MINI class was designed to carry 22 passengers in environmentally friendly cities and zero-emission transport zones. As a means of public transport, it offers features of the same level of functionality as bigger public transport buses, such as a wheelchair ramp and electronic bulletin boards. For this vehicle, our engineers offered the latest generation of electric powertrain for light-duty vehicles – Sumo LD ( Light Duty) Dana/TM4 electric motor. Till now powertrain systems intended for vehicles assumed as light, due to their total weight, were based on Dana/TM4 inverters and third party electric motors that our Canadian partner worked with, such as Broad Ocean Motors, Borgwarner, GKN. SUMO LD HV1200 is the first electric motor of the new series that is fully validated with the inverter. The motor weights 87 kg, and offers a continuous power of 100 kW and a peak power of 200 kW. Moreover, it has a high torque –with the peak torque of 1200 Nm. This motor also features a wide range of operating voltages – from 300 up to 750 V. The mini electric bus also uses a CO150 motor controller/ inverter of the new generation, that weights only 27 kg. In the Summer, Automet constructors together with our engineers have launched the Sumo LD powertrain system in the MINI class electric bus.
