Dr. George Shapiro

Dr. George Shapiro, a lifelong science and research enthusiast, has always been driven by the desire to create something new. Following his time at UCSD, he graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta (SUNY) with a BS in Biology. Dr. Shapiro obtained his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College. After graduating from medical school, he completed a residency in internal medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University. The Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, a teaching hospital with state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment, was the next stop for Dr. Shapiro as he finished his fellowship in cardiovascular disease. This hospital is where he learned the ins and outs of heart transplantation and congestive heart failure.
