DePauw is “the right school for me” For sophomore Mary Kathryn “Katie” Summers, there was never any doubt about wanting to attend DePauw. “After my first visit to DePauw University a few years ago, I was confident that it was the right school for me.” Katie and her twin sister, Kelly, both entered DePauw and joined the cheerleading team together. Also, they both earned placement in the prestigious Science Research Fellows program. Katie spent her first year at DePauw volunteering with the You, Me, and a Book Club, which takes her to area elementary schools to read and interact with kindergarten students. The two Fishers, Ind., natives also pledged the same sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. As Katie points out, “Greek life at DePauw is so rich in history. I love to share in the tradition of sisterhood and service that has been established by all the sororities.” Her DePauw experience was made possible in large part by an Annual Fund gift by Randolph H. Stokely ’67 and Lynn Kinsey Stokely ’68. “As a current student, I have discovered DePauw’s attraction is not only about the academics, but also the people. I have met so many fascinating individuals, including professors and students, who have already influenced me.
