Endowment Gift at Work
Men’s Hall Scholarship Recipient Shines Entrepreneur, scholar, humanitarian and loyal member of the DePauw family – all of these terms fit Indianapolis native Kristie F. Carter ’09. Kristie, who was awarded a Men’s Hall Alumni Association scholarship this past year, is an active and vibrant student with a bright future. A Bonner Scholar and Management Fellow, her life at DePauw is marked by public service and intense study. She has volunteered extensively with The Ark, a private kennel for homeless animals. She is also co-owner of a limousine service and has won awards for her level of entrepreneurism. Kristie has engaged deeply with DePauw alumni through the Black and Gold Student Alumni Association, working at Alumni Reunion Weekend and other events. “The DePauw alumni network is unbelievable,” she explains. The financial assistance her Men’s Hall scholarship provides underlines the importance of the greater DePauw family. “The scholarship has made my college dream seem not so unattainable, and in fact it has become a reality. I believe that alumni interest in and support of students has an extreme impact on one’s life.”
