you’re interested in, your budget, and the type of house you want—but this is tricky. “It’s better to do a list of ‘must haves’ and deal breakers, suggested Troy. “Is a pool a non-negotiable? Do you have an aversion to the woods and ticks? Do you mind hearing road noise? Sometimes these things are more important than a specific style of a home, for example. McLaughlin added another suggestion: Be honest. “If you’re in the early stages of looking or just curious about the market, let us know. He said. “We’re there to help, whether you’re ready to buy now or exploring for the future. 5. If you make ridiculously low offers on a rental or sale property, don’t go postal on the agent if it is rejected. Agents service their customers, but in this state, they work for the seller (or renter). If a good agent tells you something like, “The owner won’t entertain any offer unless it has a “9 in front of it, chances are it’s the truth. But agents are required by law to present any offer to their client. McLaughlin added, “In this market, there’s no such thing as a ridiculous offer. I would never discourage a buyer from starting the negotiation. Of course, before you even start your search, find out if you are credit worthy, and for what amount. In this day and age, don’t be so sure that you’re golden for a mortgage. A preapproved will help you avoid wasting a lot of time—especially your own. Unless otherwise noted, tickets to all shows are between $30 and $40, a price point Martin and everyone at BCMF intentionally keeps low each year in order to make the concert series accessible to everyone. For this reason, as well as the festival’s commitment to providing quality performances, most shows sell out, even in the current economy. For more information about the festival or to purchase tickets, go to bcmf.org.
